Tobacco remains a significant presence across multiple levels of Philippine life. From the financial aspects of Republic Act 10351 (The Sin Tax Reform Law) to the health-centric initiative of Executive Order 26 (Providing for the Establishment of Smoke-Free Environments in Public and Enclosed Places) and a proposed Vape Law; the impact of tobacco and electronic cigarettes, its use, and its regulation can be felt throughout the country.
This program provides the professional space and opportunities for media practitioners to examine policies, actions, and initiatives of the government and other sectors on tobacco control, vapes, the sin tax, and a smoke-free environment (EO 26) and create meaningful and relevant stories for the public. The program was implemented in 2010, 2016, to present (5 cycles). Support is provided by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
Below are our fellows and grantees from the last cycle.
